We have acquired a collection of these 5 panel solid oak doors.
The substantial doors were reclaimed from Mercers Hall London and provide a superb quality door with a satisfying weight. Some of the doors come complete with brass furniture including finger plates, escutcheons, kickplates etc.
A small number of the doors have a lighter lime wash to the reverse. We also have matching architrave to surround the doors if you require – please contact us for more details.
A folder containing images of each door and a list of door dimensions can be viewed/downloaded here.
The folder also contains other doors (glazed and 4-panel) also reclaimed from Mercers Hall.
The Mercers’ Company was formally incorporated in 1394 by a Royal Charter granted by Richard II. Setup as a trade guild for the interests of exporters of woollens and the importers of silks, velvets, fine linens and other luxury fabrics. The location of the Mercers’ home (originally a monastery), on the thoroughfare of Cheapside, has remained the same since the 14th century.
